LONG TIME NO SEE!

It has been almost 7 months since I have logged in .....why? I have no idea !
I plan on doing better now that the girls are back in school and my days are quiet.
Well, we will see how that goes.

Look who's forty!

Today is my husbands 40th birthday. I must admit I wasn't really nice and did the whole black, over the hill stuff this past weekend! (hee hee) I don't think he minded too much. I am now rethinking that in 5 years I may be sorry for the over the hill cracks, but hopefully he will have forgotten by then!

Happy Birthday Bryan!

Snow again....really?

Alright so last night we had snow once again in Concord,NC.......this is not what I signed up for!
I will admit that the majority was gone be late this afternoon, but really this is too much for one winter in the south! I used to think I would miss this kind of weather but I can assure you that this in not the case. Mother Nature may be trying to mess with us all, but somehow I think the blame goes to the whole global warming theory! I am not so patiently waiting for spring.

Now Rain.......

So we go from snow to rain in one week.....not that rain is bad, but this is getting ridiculous. In the three years we have lived in North Carolina the weather men have been rather relentless about the fact that we are in a drought......all I am going to say is, " Come On!!"

My yard is slightly wooded looking and all, but it never had a stream, nor do I want one running through the middle of my yard. At this point it's easy to say I'm ready for summer and all the sunshine and heat that makes it my job to go to the pool everyday.

Snow!!

Living in North Carolina is really funny in the winter. Friday night we received about 5 inches of snow.....being from Missouri I'm thinking this is not too big a deal...OMG, it really shut down the entire state! So over the weekend we had sun and temps that helped with the melting process....the streets were a little wet but no more snow. School was cancelled.....ok, I can understand they have no way to plow all the side roads and school parking lots. Monday came and went with temps at around 50 and lots of sunshine, all the snow is basically gone....I mean the girls snowman is just a lump about the size of a basketball. Phone rings around 6pm Monday evening and they have decided to call school off for Tuesday!! I'm all about sleeping in, but this means Saturday is a makeup day..Ughhh.

I do respect the administration of our public school system and I'm sure they have our children in their best interest, but I can still laugh about this. :)

Sew much fun!

As the new year gets underway I am taking on some new hobbies. I always said I would never sew, nope never. Well, the girls got a sewing machine for Christmas from the adopted family we have across the street and I was curious of course to see if I could do it............I made my very first rag quilt. The problem is I really love fabric...you see this is why making memory boards was great for me, I could hang out at fabric store but not have to sew anything....well, now I really have a reason to buy. So this little beginner machine of the girls does a great job, but I need a little bigger one soon. I'll keep you posted!

All good things must come to an end.....

This year has flown by.....I remember being a kid and a week seemed to take forever...now I believe this past year has skipped several months! A quick run down of this year.......
Lyndsay and Lauryn completed elementary school and started middle school.
I began participating in some local area craft shows selling memory boards and making many new friends.
Bryan has had a good year with his job.
All in all I would say this year was a pretty good one for the Crowder household, but I look forward to seeing what 2010 has in store for us.

Happy New Year to everyone!
